A Prayer From the Book of Hebrews

Drawing near to the close of my Hebrews study I'd like to share with you a prayer from today's chapter. It depicts the path of righteousness as a race towards Jesus with rough patches along the way where our hands begin to droop and our knees become weak and that we need the endurance to proceed. I hope you enjoy this prayer and I encourage you to do a study on Hebrews. There is a free study guide over at Executable Outlines

Also, if you have not yet had a peek at the website I have been working on then I would appreciate it if you would give it a look and let me know what you think. It may very well become the new home of this blog as soon as I can work out some kinks. It can be difficult jumping in the deep end with web development but I've already learned a lot. Click Here to check out the website. Lord willing, all will go smoothly, according to His will and within His purposed time frame. God bless you all.

Dear Heavenly Father,

I pray that, like the Old Testament saints,
we lay aside every weight,
and sin which clings so closely,
and let us run with endurance the
race that is set before us,
looking to Jesus,
the founder and perfecter of our faith.
- Hebrews 12:1-2

Lord, Help us to consider Him who
endured from sinners such hostility
against Himself,
so that we may not grow
weary or fainthearted.
For in our struggle against sin
we have not yet resisted to the point
of shedding our blood.
- Hebrews 12:3-4

Lord, give us strength and endurance.
That we may lift our drooping hands
and strengthen our weak knees,
and make straight paths for our feet,
so that what is lame may not be
put out of joint but rather be healed.
Help us to strive for peace with everyone,
and for the holiness without which
no one will see the Lord.
- Hebrews 12:12-14

In the name of Jesus
I pray,
Amen.
